SELECTA Workshop organized by FINK (Serbia)
The SELECTA Workshop entitled “Fundamentals of electrodeposition of metallic alloys: state-of-the-art at European and International levels” was held on 3-7 November 2015 at “Solaris Resort”, in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia. The recruited ESRs (Early Stage Researchers) and the senior researchers from the partner institutions attended the event. After the welcome presentations, the ESRs introduced themselves, their scientific background and their project. The senior researchers also briefly presented their institutions and their role within the SELECTA network. The main goal of the Workshop was to train the ESRs in the following scientific topics: (i) basic electrodeposition methods for the growth of sustainable amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys, (ii) electrochemical synthesis of porous alloys for environmental applications and (iii) training in metrology, calibration and standards. Additionally, training in soft skills was also provided to the ESRs. At the end of the Workshop the knowledge acquired by the ESRs was evaluated.

SELECTA workshop
The first SELECTA Workshop entitled “Fundamentals of electrodeposition of metallic alloys: state-of-the-art at European and International levels” will be held on 3-7 November 2015 at “Solaris Resort” (http://www.solarisresort.com/En/index-En.html) in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia. The 15 early-stage researchers (ESR PhD students) of the SELECTA network will take this opportunity to introduce themselves, present their projects and explain their role in SELECTA. The ERS fellows will assist to several seminars given by senior researchers, as part of their compulsory training through SELECTA. The main scientific topics of the seminars will be: (i) basic Electrodeposition methods for the growth of sustainable amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys, (ii) electrochemical synthesis of porous alloys for environmental applications and (iii) Training in Metrology, Calibration and Standards.

Symposium at E-MRS Spring Meeting 2015
Some members of SELECTA will participate in the forthcoming E-MRS Spring Meeting 2015.
Dr. L. Philippe (EMPA) and Dr. Pellicer (UAB) are co-organizers of symposium FF entitled “Electrochemical processes for nanomaterials and their properties” of E-MRS Spring Meeting 2015 that will be held next 11-15 May in Lille (France). Prof. Sort (UAB) and Dr. Gebert (IFW) belong to the scientific committee. Dr. Pané (ETHZ) will deliver an invited talk at this symposium.
SELECTA kick-off Meeting
The kick-off Meeting of SELECTA will be held on 5-6 March 2015 at "Campus Hotel" in Bellaterra. Representatives of both Beneficiary and Associated Partners will attend the event.
Welcome remarks will be given by the Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor of UAB. Several aspects of the Network including management, recruitment and dissemination, and training, among others will be tackled.
